This weekend, I’ll be joined in Dallas by Sweatshop co-writer/producer Ted Geoghegan, composer Dwayne Cathey, FX artists Marcus Koch and Kristi Boul, several producers, and most of the cast at Texas Frightmare Weekend! We’ll have a couple of tables covering Domain of the Damned and Sweatshop, where we will be selling Domain DVDs and soundtracks, and you’ll have the chance to check out props from Sweatshop and meet the cast in person. Other guests include Tobe Hooper, Jason Mewes, Linda Blair, Fairuza Balk, lots more… oh yeah, and did I mention Alice Cooper?
We’ll also be recording our commentary tracks for the movie while we’re there, so it’s all pretty damn exciting.

Over the past week, I’ve completed the color correction, mixed much of the dialogue, and completed the ambient filler tracks. These will act as a backing soundtrack, pushed mostly into the surround channels. Next up, I’ll be tackling the primary foley and sound design. I’m really pleased with the color graded version of the movie, it has a much more vibrant, contrasty feel now, just the right tone for Sweatshop.

After a year of daddy duty… it’s back to SWEATSHOP!
Writer/producer Ted Geoghegan just got back from the 2009 Fangoria convention in Chicago, where he held it down with several awesome individuals who have become a part of the Sweatshop machine like FX artist extraordinaire Marcus Koch and fantasy artist Jason Beam (more on his involvement soon!) Domain of the Damned was Fangoria’s DVD of the Month for January 2009!
Just catching up on some news here. Last May, Fangoria included me in an article on southern filmmakers, along with Mel House, Marcus Koch, and Joe Davison. The article covers both Sweatshop and Domain of the Damned, along with a handful of others.
This was my first major story (other than a random mention here and there) in Fangoria, and I’m particularly proud of the fact that I actually worked on every movie talked about in the article. I directed two, shot a third, and did CG effects for two more. Exciting times!
